The Bollywood film Queen, which was released in 2013, was highly appreciated by the audience and critics alike. This superhit film is now being remade in all South Indian languages Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
Tamannaah Bhatia is the lead actress in the Telugu remake which is titled That is Mahalakshmi. Kajal Aggarwal is reprising the titular role in the Tamil version (Paris Paris,) Manjima Mohan is doing the same in Malayalam (Zam Zam) and Parul Yadav in Kannada (Butterfly.)
According to the reports, the South remakes of Queen are eyeing for a direct OTT release. It is said the makers of these films have initiated talks with top OTT channels for the streaming rights. However, an official confirmation regarding the same is yet to be out.
Popular singer and actress Shibani Dandekar has been roped in to reprise Lisa Haydon’s role in the Telugu and the Malayalam versions. The South audiences are eagerly waiting to watch the native language remakes. It is the first time a film is being made in all South Indian languages at a time.

Prasanth Varma from Awe fame has directed the Telugu and the Tamil versions. Ramesh Aravind has wielded the megaphone for the Kannada and the Malayalam remakes.
