HIT Director Sailesh Kolanu Reveals Why He Chose Rajkummar Rao For Hindi Remake

Few days ago, it is was officially announced that director Sailesh Kolanu’s Telugu investigative thriller HIT will be remade in Hindi, And now, it has been made official that popular Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao will feature in it. Sailesh Kolanu will be directing the Bollywood remake too, Dil Raju and Kuldeep Rathore will be jointly bankrolling the project.  

Speaking to a leading daily, director Sailesh Kolanu revealed why he chose Rajkummar Rao to reprise the leading role.  He said, “All of us knew right away that Rajkummar is the kind of actor who would do justice to this character.  So the choice was unanimous (sic.)” 

In a statement to PTI, Rajkummar Rao confirmed his presence in the Hindi remake and said, “When I saw HIT, I instantly connected with it.  It’s an engaging story, relevant in today’s environment.  As an actor, I am always on the lookout to play characters I haven’t explored and HIT gives me a chance to do that.  I’m looking forward to taking this journey with Sailesh and Dil Raju (sic.)”

Sailesh Kolanu is doing minor changes to the script, which will suit the sensibilities of the pan Indian audiences.  The pre production works are already underway and shooting might kick off in 2021.
