Seerat Kapoor is one of the contemporary actresses who has been constantly mesmerizing the audience with her performance and beauty on the silver screen. Seerat began her career as an Assistant Choreographer for the Bollywood film Rockstar. She then made her acting debut in Run Raja Run (Telugu) in 2014 and is currently basking in the success of Krishna And His Leela, which released recently on a popular OTT platform.
In an exclusive chat with Telugu Filmnagar, Seerat Kapoor speaks about her upcoming film Maa Vintha Gadha Vinuma, reveals about her lockdown life and answers other fun questions. Check it out here:
How are you coping up with the lockdown phase mentally and physically? From work to friends, everything is virtual, how do you feel about it?
You know when you take a step further from only considering your individual worries and observe what the world is going through on a whole, we come to realise that there’s so much to be grateful for. I spent my lockdown reflecting on the same. To have the better fortune of living under one roof with my family and to be able to enjoy 3 square meals a day is on its own a luxury. Each day pushed me to be at my creative best. To utilise not just time effectively but to actually feel content within the blessings I have while doing so. This period has given me clarity of thought. I am exactly where I am meant to be. On the virtual front, it’s a transition we are all adapting to. It is important that we patiently overcome the test of time.
Krishna And His Leela released on the OTT platform directly and has been receiving a good response. How does it feel?
As an actor, my thirst is thoroughly quenched. Ruksaar is a character I believed would go home with the viewers. To hear that the audience is celebrating her is validation that both they and I are in synergy. Personally, I am experiencing my strongest connection yet with my craft and the people I perform for. I want to extend a virtual hug to all my fans and everyone from the industry who directly spoke to me post the release of Krishna And His Leela. Thank you for re-encapsulating me with the conviction to choose scripts and roles that allow me to explore.
You and co star Siddhu Jonnalagadda will yet again be working together in Maa Vintha Gadha Vinuma. How is your role different from Rukshar in this film?
Vineetha is a personality apart from Ruksaar. Krishna could pop the question the way he did because he knew it wouldn’t be a daring situation with Ruksaar but with Vineetha, she needs her man to be “properly” positioned. In their own worlds, they are both tough women to please but the difference is Ruksaar would have her way without intimidating you. Or at least not have you realise that you’re being intimidated.

One dream director and actor, you wish to work one day?
Why limit dreams to just one? I want to work with Director S.S. Rajamouli and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Zoya Akhtar. As of actors, I definitely want to work with Mahesh Babu in Tollywood and Ranbir Kapoor in Bollywood.
If not an actress, what would you be up to right now?
I’d be designing the interiors of your home!

Being the only daughter and youngest of the family, do you receive all the pampering?
I have come to realise that being the youngest isn’t quite the only qualification required to receive pampering. The most well behaved is! Between my brother and I, we switch our fair share of turns.

Once the situation gets better, where would you like to visit?
I have made a list but these are not vacation visits! Somewhere between lights, sound and a camera would be ideal.
