The Vishwak Sen starrer HIT, became a box office superhit and has found a place in the top ten movies which released in the recent years in a Tollywood aficionado’s watchlist. The movie defied all expectations of it failing at the box office and instead gave Vishwak Sen one of the biggest hits of his career. It looks like HIT is now going to Bollywood as an official remake, as confirmed by leading production houses Sri Venkateswara Creations and Dil Raju Productions.
In an official post, both Dil Raju Productions and Sri Venkateswara Creations took to Twitter to share the news with fans about a Bollywood remake. The incredibly talented Rajkummar Rao will be reprising the role of Vishwak Sen in the Hindi remake. The post reads “Our 2nd production venture in Hindi is the remake of Telugu Superhit #HitTheFilm with @RajkummarRao directed by Dr. @KolanuSailesh. To go on floors in 2021. Stay tuned for more details (sic.)”

This news comes on the back of weeks of speculating about HIT getting a Bollywood remake. HIT was written and directed by Sailesh Kolanu while Nani produced HIT under Wall Poster Cinema, his production banner. HIT starred Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma as the leads, while Murli Sharma, Brahmaji, Bhanuchander and Hari Priya were seen in supporting roles. Vishwak Sen was seen as a police officer investigating the case of a missing woman while battling demons from his past. HIT was released in theaters on February 28th, 2020. There is also talk about a sequel being on the cards, due to the response shown by the audience.
