When India went into a nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus, it was with the aim to get the necessary infrastructure ready to deal with the virus related cases. The lockdown was enforced on March 24th and is still continuing but with a few relaxations. However, India’s COVID-19 positive cases are rising at an alarming rate and officials are finding it extremely difficult to do contact tracing of individuals with whom positive cases might have come into contact.
Koratala Siva, a noted director in Tollywood who directed some great movies like Mirchi, Janatha Garage and Bharat Ane Nenu, seems to have been alarmed with the rising number of cases in Hyderabad. Apparently, people who have the virus are not getting themselves checked and are keeping it a secret which led to Koratala Siva urging those people to get themselves tested. In a Twitter post Koratala Siva said “More than the virus, it’s the fact that a few infected individuals are keeping it a secret that makes this an even more scarier experience (sic.)” Moreover, calling for some civility from people who are hiding the virus, Koratala Siva said “It’s my earnest request to all those infected, let’s act responsible and inform our close ones and all those who’ve met recently so they can get tested too. Need of the hour. Time to be more civilised (sic.)”
