Indian cinema witnessed a tectonic shift in standards when Baahubali was released five years ago on this day. Rajamouli, the man behind the scenes and the mastermind behind Baahubali made the whole world notice him and his talents and the ability of Indians to produce movies which are on par with Hollywood. What made Baahubali so endearing for the masses was the strong storytelling along with stunning visuals and not to mention the stellar acting performances from the lead cast namely Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anusha Shetty.
As Baahubali: The Beginning completes five years since its release Prabhas took to his social media handle to raise a toast to the team behind the movie. The Baahubali series was produced on a whopping budget of Rs. 250 crores and earned more than Rs. 1,800 crores worldwide. Originally shot in Telugu and Tamil, the film also released in multiple languages such as Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Chinese and Japanese to name a few. The franchise garnered quite a few prestigious awards like the National Award, the Filmfare, and received five nominations for the prestigious Saturn Awards. Baahubali: The Beginning also has the distinction of being the first Telugu film to win the prestigious National Award for The Best Feature Film.
