Did you know that music composer S.S. Thaman is a close friend with singer S.P. Charan and Tamil playback singer and composer Venkat Prabhu? Well, looks like they are, as Thaman shared a happy throwback picture of themselves from 1999. They seem inseparable in the picture and it seems like the three of them were part of a band back in those days.
Sharing the throwback picture on Instagram, Thaman captioned the post as, “Me @spbcharan @venkat_prabhu the year 1999. Our band #thenextgeneration 🎧✊♥️🎵 I was the drummer the golden days of life(sic.)”
S.S. Thaman was a drummer back in those days just like his father Ghantasala Siva Kumar. Thaman’s dad was also a drummer, worked for seven hundred films as a drummer under music composer K. Chakravarthy.

In 1994, when S.S. Thaman he entered the film industry as a supporting musician with the Telugu film, Bhairava Dweepam. Later, in 2009, Thaman made his debut as music director in the Telugu film, Malli Malli. Now, Thaman is considered as one of the popular and talented music composers of the south film industry. Thaman composed music for some prominent Telugu films such as Kick, Dookudu, Businessman, Race Gurram and Venky Mama among many others. Thaman’s recent album for the Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which stars Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde, has been widely appreciated by fans all over the world.
