The Malayalam film Kappela, starring Roshan Mathew, Anna Ben and Sreenath Bhasi, released in theatres a few days before the lockdown was imposed and received a great response from the Malayali audience and critics. The film garnered attention all over the nation when it was released on the OTT platforms.
According to the latest reports, Sithara Entertainments have secured the Telugu remake rights of the film. Interestingly, Sithara Entertainments had earlier bagged the remake rights of two other hit Malayalam films, Ayyappanum Koshiyum and Premam. Premam has been remade in Telugu with Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan and was also received well by the audience.
Ayyappanum Koshiyum is also preparing for the Telugu remake with Ravi Teja and Rana Daggubati. Now, all eyes are on the Telugu remake of this popular Malayalam film, Kappela.
Vishnu Venu, the producer of Kappela, took to social media to announce the same. He wrote, “Announcing a happy news! Kappela is to be remade in telugu by Sithara Entertainments (Producers of Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapuramulo, Jersey Movie, and many more). Kappela is the third movie from malayalam industry after Premam & Ayyappanum Koshiyum to be bought by them! Expressing our sincere thanks to all well wishers for making our small movie a grand success! (sic).”
Kappela is an intense romantic thriller directed by debutant Muhammad Musthafa. The story is the love story of a young woman and a rickshaw driver and a stranger who derails their meeting.
