The brutal death of a father and son duo in a small village Tuticorin, in Tamil Nadu shook the entire nation. It has been reported Jayaraj 59, and his son Fenix 31, were allegedly brutalised by the Sathankulam police after the father and son refused to shut their mobile shop before the lockdown permitted time.
“It’s a twin murder. There has been inexplicable torture, which as a woman I can’t even describe. We will not collect the bodies until murder cases are filed against them (police),” NDTV quoted Jayaraj’s daughter Persis. The family alleges Jayaraj and his son Fenix were tortured all night at the police station.
The custodial death has angered the netizens of the nation and #JusticeforJayarajandFenix has been trending on social media. South Indian Celebrities from Jayam Ravi to Samantha Akkineni have condemned this incident and expressed their shock over these brutal deaths, on social media.
