Thalavia Rajinikanth even at the age of 70 puts utmost efforts and dedication to all his roles in every film. One such film and role which shall always be remembered is his character as Chitti, from the film Robo(Ethiran in Tamil) which was released in 2010. Directed by Shankar, Rajinikanth left his fans amazed by his powerful onscreen persona and larger than life image. Recently, cinematographer Richard M. Nathan of Robo has shared a secret about the Thalaiva that will leave you stunned.
Cinematographer Richard M. Nathan took to Instagram and shared some unseen pictures of Rajinikanth in the role of Chitti from the film Robo. Many assumed the Chitti character was created by computer generated imagery (CGI) app as the film had larger than life graphics which astonished everyone. Richard M. Nathan revealed the secret and said it was not graphics, Rajinikanth got himself fully painted for this role.
Sharing the unseen pictures, the Cinematographer wrote, “This was a photoshoot I did for #enthiran in 2008. Ppl thot it was CGI, it’s not. Thalaivar was pained for the shoot. Check the unreleased second photo. @shankarshanmugh #throwback #alwaysthalaivar #superstar (sic.)”

Robo is a science fiction action film written and directed by S. Shankar. The film featured Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles with Danny Denzongpa, Santhanam and Karunas in supporting roles. Robo was followed up by its standalone sequel, 2.0, which was released in 2018. The film starred Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson, as well.
