It has been a year since Director Gunasekhar announced his next titled Hiranyakashyapa, with Rana Daggubati. Because there was no word about the film for many months, rumours about the film being shelved were doing bouts in the media. But with Director Gunasekhar’s latest tweet clarified all the rumours.
Earlier, rumours stated due to the vast budget and pandemic situation, the makers of the film have decided to put the film on hold as of now and make it sometime in the upcoming years. Now, Director Gunasekhar has now cleared the rumors saying,“#Hiranyakashyapa Pre-Production work is completely done. Awaiting normalcy to take things forward. #OmNamoNarayanaya(sic.)
It is also said Gunasekhar had plans to make this film the costliest film ever of his career with a staggering Rs. 150 crore budget using extensive computer graphics and high end VFX. However, post the COVID-19 pandemic, the director may trim the budget considering the extraordinary conditions. More details are to be awaited.
Meanwhile, Gunasekhar’s last outing was Rudhramadevi in 2015. The historical biographical film was received well by the audience at the box office.
Rana Daggubati is waiting for his trilingual release of Aranya in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi, which has been postponed due to COVID 19. The actor is currently working on another upcoming film Virata Parvam along with Sai Pallavi, which is directed by Venu Udugula and bankrolled by Suresh Babu and Sudhakar Cherukuri.
