Mohan Babu, Bhanu Priya, Rajinikanth and Soundarya were the leading stars of Pedarayudu and one of the reasons, apart from its stellar cast, was how the movie was able to perfectly cater to the sentiment of familial values.
Pedarayudu was a remake of the Tamil movie Nattamai and in a recent interview, Mohan Babu revealed it was Rajinikanth who recommended him to watch the Tamil hit and buy the rights from the original director to remake it in Telugu. Pedarayudu marked its twenty fifth anniversary yesterday and Mohan Babu revealed some interesting tidbits.
During an interaction with the media, Mohan Babu was asked if there is a possibility of a sequel for Pedarayudu to which he replied it is impossible to make a sequel for a cult classic of this caliber. However, Mohan Babu also hinted his children Manchu Manoj and Vishnu would make a sequel to Pedarayudu in the future. Another interesting tidbit Mohan Babu shared was about the time when Rajinikanth lent him Rs. 45 lakhs to complete the film when he was going through a financial crunch.
On the professional front, Mohan Babu might be seen in the upcoming Chiranjeevi-Koratala Siva starrer, Acharya. Chiranjeevi and Mohan Babu are the thickest of friends in real life and the two coming together on the screen will be a treat for their fans. The two veterans last worked together on Kondaveeti Donga, which was released in 1990.
