A delegation representing the Telugu film industry traveled to Andhra Pradesh in order to meet with the Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the reopening of the industry in order to resume movie operations and shoots in Andhra Pradesh. The delegation consisted of some high profile names like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Dil Raju, S.S. Rajamouli and Suresh Daggubati. The meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s camp office in Vijayawada.
Chiranjeevi said that film shootings could resume in Andhra Pradesh after June 15th and the Chief Minister’s office would issue guidelines for reopening the industry. Mr. Y.S Jagan also agreed to waive the fixed minimum power charges levied on theatre owners during the lockdown period. This decision comes as a relief to theater owners who have not seen any business during the last two months. Rajamouli took to Twitter to convey his thanks to Y.S. Jagan for this decision.
My sincere thanks to AP CM @ysjagan garu for giving the industry hope in the time of a global crisis that has hit the film fraternity and theatre owners. Grateful to the government for waiving off minimum fixed power charges on theatres which is a relief. @AndhraPradeshCM

Speaking to the media, Chiranjeevi said “Regarding bringing in transparency in the ticketing system, Mr. Jagan responded positively and said that a decision would be taken on allowing flexible pricing of tickets based on the budget of the film. Such a system is followed in cities like Chennai and Mumbai, and if it is allowed here the film industry will benefit a lot. This will also check malpractices (sic.)”
Moreover, the Chief Minister also agreed to consider looking into allotting over 300 acres of land in Visakhapatnam, which was promised by the previous ruling government. “The Chief Minister assured to provide land in Vizag for film industry for setting up of studios and other production facilities. The government also agreed to provide land for housing plots for the celebrities who wish to settle in Vizag (sic.)” said Minister Perni Venkateswara Rao.
