Filmmaker Sanjana Reddy, who made her directorial debut with Raju Gadu in 2018 has been in the news since a few days after she has been admitted to the hospital for a sudden rise in temperature of her body. For the past two days several reports suggested that she was on a ventilator and had complained of high fever and breathlessness. Some reports even quoted sources as stating that a neuro physician was attending her to diagnose the issue. Kona Venkat, the writer and producer of her upcoming film, Karnam Malleswari rubbished all rumors and said Sanjana Reddy is absolutely fine.
Kona Venkat took to his Twitter handle and dismissed all the rumors once for all. Stating that the issue has been blown out of proportion, he wrote, “Our “Karanam Malleswari” Biopic director @sanjanareddyd is absolutely safe & sound and she would be home in a couple of days .. She’s being treated for Viral fever.. Please put an end to all the speculations(sic.)”

Meanwhile, Kona Venkat is also awaiting the release of his upcoming pan Indian film, Nishabdham, starring Anushka Shetty, Madhavan, Michael Madsen and Anjali in the lead roles.

Sanjana Reddy and Kona Venkat are working on a biopic of weightlifter Karnam Malleswari. Karnam Malleswari was born in Voosavanipeta near Amadalavalasa in Andhra Pradesh, the village from where director Sanjana hails. Malleswari is the first Indian woman to win a Bronze Medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
