Actress Meera Chopra Files Police Case After Fans Of Jr NTR Troll And Abuse Her On Twitter

It is a well known fact that Twitter is a battleground where fans of movie actors get into verbal arguments to prove who has a stronger loyalty and fan following.  These verbal wars can often escalate into name calling and turn ugly.  Some of these even make it to the trending list just because of the number of fans participating in the trolling.

The latest to fall victim to abusive trolling is Meera Chopra and she faced an uncalled for brunt of vicious trolling from fans of Jr NTR.  It all began when Meera Chopra said she doesn’t know who Jr NTR is and that was what was needed for the RRR actors’ fans and fan clubs to begin trolling and abusing Meera Chopra.

Meera Chopra is an actress who has worked in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films.  During an #AskMeera session on Twitter, a fan asked her to say something about Jr NTR to which she replied, “I don’t know him. I am not his fan.”  This resulted in fans trolling her and it was at an extreme level.  The trolls abused her by calling names and giving her rape threats to Meera and her family.  However, Meera did not let the issue slide and has reported some of the accounts to the cyber crime cell of Hyderabad police.

Meera also tagged Jr NTR in a tweet in a bid to bring it to his attention about how unruly his fans were and tweeted, “@tarak9999 i didnt kno that ill be called a bitch, whore and a pornstar, just bcoz i like @urstrulyMahesh more then you. And your fans will send my parents such wishes. Do u feel successful with such a fan following? And I hope u dont ignore my tweet!!(sic).”

However, a lot of people supported Meera Chopra and have called out the trolling by the fan clubs.  Singer Chinmayi Sripada has extended her support to Meera Chopra as well by encouraging Meera Chopra to file a case against the accounts who threatened her.
