In the recent and heinous Handwara attack, two senior Indian Army officers, a colonel and a major were among the five security personnel martyred in an encounter in the deadliest operation by Indian armed forces in Handwara town, Kashmir on Saturday evening. The army has killed two terrorists while rescuing the hostages kept by them in this 12 hours of a military operation. With the entire nation, Mahesh Babu also paid tributes to Colonel Ashutosh Sharma, Major Anuj Sood, Naik Rajesh Kumar and Lance Naik Dinesh Singh and sub-inspector of Jammu-Kashmir police Shakeel Qazi for sacrificing their lives in this military operation.
Taking to Twitter, superstar Mahesh Babu penned some gratitude words towards the safeguards of the nation. He wrote, “The Handwara attack – A dark time for our nation. Our soldiers’ courage and determination to safeguard our nation remains unparalleled. I stand in silence to honour our soldiers who died on duty fighting for us.”
