Srilakshmi Kanakala is a popular television actress and one of Tollywood’s best supporting actors Rajeev Kanakala’s sister. Srilakshmi has been battling cancer for quite some time now. The popular television actress lost the battle with cancer and passed away on Monday at a private hospital in Hyderabad.
There was a noticeable gloom which descended on the families of Rajeev Kanakala and Sri Lakshmi Kanakala. Sri Lakshmi Kanakala is a very well known actress in the television circuit and is popular for her roles in television serials like Agnipoolu, Chinnari, Ruthu Geetham, Super Mom and several other serials. In a recent interview to a popular daily, Srilakshmi revealed that she was destined to become an actress since she never wanted to become an actress in the first place.
Srilakshmi’s demise comes at an unfortunate time because of the lockdown implemented by the central and state governments nationwide. The lockdown is a preventive measure to stop the spread of the highly infectious Coronavirus or COVID-19 which was classified as a pandemic. Rajeev Kanakala and Amrutham actor Harshavardhan requested fans to not gather at the hospital or their houses for the last rites and to respect the lockdown guidelines implemented by the government.
Srilakshmi and Rajeev Kanakala are children of popular playwright Devadas Kanakala who passed away in August 2019 and mother Lakshmi who passed away in February 2018. Srilakshmi Kanakala is survived by her husband Peddi Rama Rao, a senior journalist and two daughters Prerna and Ragaleena.
