Chiranjeevi’s 152nd film titled Acharya with director Koratala Siva has been the talk of the town ever since it was announced. The rumours of a cameo role in the film has been going in and out on social media. Buzz was either Mahesh Babu or Ram Charan will be doing the role. However, it all remained rumours until Chiranjeevi declined the rumours.
In a recent interview with a leading Telugu daily, the Sye Raa actor Chiranjeevi cleared the air and said, “I don’t know how Mahesh Babu’s name came up in the news. He loves and respects me. I like him a lot too. He is like my son. But, we never approached him for Acharya. It would be great if we get an opportunity to act together.”
The veteran actor Chiranjeevi further stated that Ram Charan will be doing the cameo role. He adds that director Koratala Siva has always wanted to cast Ram Charan for the character. “Charan’s dates are yet to be adjusted. He has been busy with ‘RRR‘. If he and Rajamouli come to an understanding, Charan will do ‘Acharya’. He has got a reasonably extended role in the movie,” Chiru avers.
Currently, Chiranjeevi is working to manage the Corona Crisis Charity (CCC) foundation, which aims at helping daily wage workers in the Telugu film industry. Acharya, the action entertainer is directed by Koratala Siva, bankrolled by Ram Charan under Konidela Production and Mani Sharma is set to score music. The film was supposed to release in the month of August but might be postponed due to the coronavirus crisis.
