Tollywood is not just home to big stars but also houses many philanthropists as well. Many of the established actors use their fame and fortune to pursue philanthropic efforts. Stars like Venkatesh, Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi and many others are known to help their fans out with money or medical needs should the need arise.
Dr Rajasekhar is one such philanthropist, who is very well known for his down to earth nature and his efforts to help the underprivileged over the years. The 58 year old actor who acted in over eighty films has once again come out to contribute and this time it is for the poor artists in Tollywood. Artists make up for the majority of Tollywood and are often the most important and also the most underrated community in the industry.
Recently, the films association passed a memo asking all shooting schedules to be put on a hold. This move comes after the government has insisted on strict curfews and quarantine rules in order to combat the spread of Coronavirus pandemic which reached India. Many movie releases have also been postponed as well due to the pandemic. This has greatly affected the artists who depend on movie shootings they are hired for to make a daily living.
Dr Rajasekhar and his wife Jeevitha are stepping forward to help those artists who are most affected by the Tollywood shutdown. Rajasekhar has stepped up and donated essential commodities like staple food, medicines and sanitisers. Rajasekhar also took time to applaud the healthcare workers by coming out and clapping for the brave men and women at the front lines of this pandemic during the Janta curfew which took place on March 22nd, 2020.
