Uppena is an upcoming Telugu Movie in which the newest member from Megastar Chiranjevi’s family Panja Vaisshnav Tej, who is Sai Dharam Tej’s brother will make his debut. Uppena will also star Krithi Shetty as the female lead, who is also making her debut as a Tollywood actress. Krithi Shetty is not new to acting and has already worked in the Tamil and Kannada film industries.
Ram Charan shared his happiness of his cousin’s debut and welcomed Panja Vaisshnav Tej to the movie industry. The anticipated movie was initially scheduled to release on April 2nd, 2020 but now the filmmakers have postponed the release to May 7th. Uppena will not be the only movie to have postponed its release date as other movies which were supposed to be released in March and early April have also been postponed. Some movies have even been released on over the top apps as well.

This is mainly due to the Coronavirus pandemic that is spreading all over the world. The highly infectious virus has reached Indian borders and is spreading rapidly. The government has announced a slew of measures to help curb the spread of the Coronavirus. Quarantine and curfews have been imposed all across the country and the government has ordered closure of malls and theaters as these are places which witness a high amount of public gatherings.
Uppena made waves earlier when Vijay Sethupathi’s first look was released. Vijay Sethupathi will be playing the role of antagonist for Uppena. Uppena is directed Buchi Babu Sana, who was director Sukumar’s assistant. The film is produced jointly by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. Devi Sri Prasad will score the music for Uppena.
