Tamil Superstar Vijay who is fondly referred to as Thalapathy by his fans is currently working on Master. The pre movie release promotions have hyped up the movie to new heights that fans were eagerly waiting for its release in movie theaters. However, the fans will have to wait for a longer period now as the scheduled movie release date may be changed. Vijay’s Master was scheduled to release on April 9th, 2020.
However, the early April release date might not be feasible due to the Coronavirus pandemic which reached the Indian subcontinent and is slowly starting to spread among the population. The dangerous virus spreads via droplets upon contact with another person. The Indian Government wants to combat the spread of the disease and keep it to a minimum and therefore announced quarantine guidelines. Various state governments have also begun preparations to stop the spread of the virus and have shut down malls, theaters and stopped sporting events. These places see the highest gathering of population at a single place and therefore are at high risk.

As Tamil Nadu joins other states in shutting down malls and theaters, Vijay’s Master would not be able to release on April 9th. Vijay enjoys a fan base in Singapore and Malaysia as well and those countries have also put quarantine restrictions in place thereby affecting Master’s release. Therefore the producers decided to push the release date and have not yet confirmed the exact date of release.
Thalapathy Vijay will next be seen in Master, being directed by Lokesh Kanakaraj. Vijay Sethupathi will be playing the antagonist while Malavika Mohanan will play the female lead. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for Master while Xavier Britto is producing the movie.
