The WHO(World Health Organisation) declared Coronavirus as a Global Pandemic, as a result of which the Government of India issued a travel advisory to citizens traveling outside India. Besides this, the state governments including Telangana have also announced to shut down all Malls, Cinema Theatres, Clubs, Educational Institutions till 31st March as medical emergency over the coronavirus. The government has mobilised gathering of large groups together as the virus usually spreads via droplets from mouth during coughing and sneezing and is a high risk for everyone. The Coronavirus has been taking a toll on a lot of sectors.
Now, the Tollywood industry is going to come to a standstill from tomorrow. The head of Telugu Film Chamber, Naryanadas Narang, has announced that all film shootings will be stalled from tomorrow. The chamber decided to stop shootings of Films, Television Serials, Web Series and all other entertainment including digital formats as a result of health advisory. They also mentioned that decision about re-starting shootings shall be taken on 30th March after considering the prevailing situations.
Shooting of many films like Chiranjeevi’s Acharya, Vikram-starrer Cobra, Rajamouli’s RRR and many more are being rescheduled owing to government’s regulatory. Besides shootings, the release of many films like Aranya, Nani-starrer V and many others too have been rescheduled due to the situation. Many artists from Tollywood have come together on social media platforms to urge their fans and artists to take necessary precautions to protect from Covid-19. It remains to be seen how things are going to unfold in the next few days and how long will the industry adhere to this precautionary measure.
