When HIT released in theaters no one was expecting the movie to become the blockbuster it is now. The movie quite literally became a HIT in theaters. Vishwak Sen stars as the male lead and is a police detective in the movie who investigates cases of missing women. What makes the audience relate to the character is how flawed he is in terms of being an excellent police officer and at the same time battling demons from his past in his mind.
HIT was written and directed by Sailesh Kolanu while Nani produced HIT under Wall Poster Cinema, his production banner. Overwhelmed by the success of HIT in theaters, Sailesh Kolanu took to Instagram to write a heartfelt post about how grateful he is for Nani’s support. Sailesh also recounts the journey from when he first met Nani and how he narrated the script to Nani, following which Nani convinced Sailesh Kolanu to direct the movie himself. Sailesh Kolanu does not forget to share how grateful he is for Nani for taking a risk on him by producing HIT.

Long and emotional post alert. As HIT successfully moves into the second week of its theatrical run, I would like to take a moment to talk about this man and the role he has played in my life. In 2017 Jan when I met Nani for the first time, little did I know that he was going to become my biggest mentor. After listening to the first couple of stories that I pitched to him, only with a hope that some able director can bring it onto the screen, he suddenly incepted the idea that I am capable of directing my own scripts. Fast forward one and a half years, I signed my first project under Wall Poster Cinema. If not for Nani, HIT would have never happened and a film maker called Sailesh would have never seen the light of the world. Once HIT started, although Nani never came onto the set to monitor or influence what was I making, he was there all through the process, just one phone call away to guide me with whatever I needed. He held my hand and walked me through this confusing maze of an industry, protecting me and letting me shine. The driving force behind HIT is the trust that Nani and Prashanti invested in me. HIT will remain the most satisfying project in my life not just because it’s my first project, but because of this purest form of professional association I had with this man. Sometimes I wonder how will I ever thank this person. The only way I think I can thank this man is by continuing to make films that he will be proud of. I will strive hard to do that. If you haven’t watched HIT yet in the theatres, pls go and watch it and let me know how it was. #hitmovie @nameisnani @wallpostercinemaofficial
