After weeks of speculation and rumours, the question about who is to be the lead actress along with Vijay Deverakonda, in the pan Indian film Fighter, is put to rest. The earliest reports speculated Jahnvi Kapoor would be the lead actress and a little while later there was even stronger speculation Ananya Pandey would be finalised as the female lead.
We finally have the answer now, with filmmakers officially announcing Ananya Pandey as the female lead for Fighter. Production company Puri Connects, founded by Puri Jagannath and Charmme Kaur, put out an official tweet which included a warm welcome to Ananya Pandey.

Ananya Pandey also shared the news on her Twitter handle mentioning she is happy and blessed to be a part of Fighter. Ms. Pandey also shared another tweet with a message welcoming Vijay Deverakonda to Bollywood.

Vijay Deverakonda will make his Bollywood debut with Fighter, a movie produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Puri Connects.Ananya Panday was earlier seen in Student Of The Year 2 and Pati Patni Aur Woh. Fighter is a movie based on mixed martial arts and boxing, for which Vijay Deverakonda underwent intensive training. Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Vishnu Reddy, Getup Srinu and Ali will also appear in supporting roles in Fighter.
