Bollywood star Ajay Devgn broke multiple box office records with his movie Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. He created a buzz in the Telugu film industry when it was announced he would act in Rajamouli’s RRR. When pictures of his arrival in Hyderabad and his meeting with S.S Rajamouli became public, fans were elated with the news.
Ajay Devgn joined an already star studded cast which includes Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt, Alison Doody, Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson and Rahul Ramakrishna. However, as per reports circulating online, Ajay Devgn refused to take any remuneration for acting in the movie.
The actor reportedly turned down the remuneration which was decided as per the market value, which is equivalent to what Ram Charan and Jr. NTR charge. This is reportedly due to the rapport Ajay Devgn shares with Rajamouli. Ajay Devgn previously collaborated with Rajamouli when he lent his voice for a small voice over for the Hindi version of the movie Eega. Ajay Devgn also agreed to the role without expecting any kind of remuneration.
RRR was recently in the news when the moviemakers announced a new release date—January 8th, 2021. This completely discredited all the rumours which predicted the movie may release in October 2020. Rajamouli, being the perfectionist he is, refused to compromise on the quality of the movie, thereby pushing the release date to next year.
This news about Ajay Devgn not taking any remuneration for RRR shows the mutual respect S.S. Rajamouli and Ajay Devgn hold for each other.
