Tollywood is never lacking in making good entertainers. More so, the multistarrers like Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu or Gopala Gopala which included big stars like Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh clicked big way paving the way, if the A listers are willing the sky is the limit for making a multistarrer.
It is a welcome sign that Superstar Mahesh Babu is becoming a part of multistarrer movies like Sarileru Neekevvaru. Not only that, producers like Dil Raju are creating a good trend of assembling big stars and making them a part of big budget movies.
In fact, Dil Raju may be credited to start this trend of producing big multistarrers, starting from his cult family drama, Bommarillu (2006.) Dil Raju continued to make multistarrers with big heroes like Junior NTR in Brindavanam (2010,) then with Prabhas in Mr. Perfect (2011.)
Dil Raju’s big success came in 2013, when he brought Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu for a family drama, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. The movie was a game changer as it included two of the reigning heroes of the 2000s and also gave equal screen space for them.
Dil Raju also succeeds in bringing two generations of stars like Prakash Raj, Rajendra Prasad, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Jayasudha along with new generation stars like Sharwanand, Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan under one roof.
Dil Raju’s Sarileru Neekevvaru is a case in point in this aspect. Veterans like Superstar Vijayashanthi, Rajendra Prasad, Brahmanandam also form a part of this celebration of life. Tollywood needs more producers who are forthcoming in bringing out more multistarrers like Sarileru Neekevvaru.
