World class actor Kamal Haasan celebrated his 65th birthday on November 7th, 2019. The actor travelled with his family members to his native place, Paramakudi, to unveil the statue of his father, Srinivasan, in the precincts of his school.
Kamal then returned back to Chennai and unveiled a bust statue of his guru, the late Dadasaheb Phalke award winning director K. Balachander, at Haasan’s Alwarpet office.
Both the chief disciples of K. Balachander, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, spoke on the occasion about their mentor.
Kamal remembered it was his guru who showed him the way from wanting to be a director to learning the art of being an actor.
Worthy disciples of a great guru, indeed!
