South sensation Vijay Deverakonda achieved a pan Indian star status with his movie Arjun Reddy. The movie was successfully remade in Hindi as Kabir Singh by the director of the original version, Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Now, another Vijay movie is going to be remade in Hindi. Geetha Govindam, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, was a blockbuster in South India, having released with subtitles in the whole South. The Parasuram directorial became a musical hit with a memorable background score by Gopi Sundar. Rohit Shetty, who made a lot of Hindi remakes of South Indian movies, bought the remake rights of Geetha Govindam.
However, sources say he will only produce the movie in Hindi and has not yet decided to direct it.
It may be noted Rohit Shetty’s last hit was Simmba, a remake of Junior NTR’s Telugu blockbuster, Temper.
