Versatile actor Suriya recently had a release, Kaappaan, in which he played a cop who takes revenge on the murderers of the Prime Minister. The movie had a lukewarm reception at the box office and did meager business in states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
With the fan following Suriya has in the Telugu states, many producers have been trying to get Suriya to sign a straight Telugu project.
News is, director B.V.S. Ravi and Gopi Mohan worked on a script and narrated it to Suriya, who agreed to it preliminarily. However, Suriya is yet to give his final nod to the project.
If this happens, this will be the first time Telugu audience will see their favorite actor on the screen in a straight Telugu film.
