Regina Cassandra – The Tamil Girl Who Took Tollywood By Storm

Tollywood has instances of many non Telugu actresses who became popular by their looks, style and performances, in the past one and a half decade.

However, one rarely finds a mix of style and substance in actresses who toil their way to become what they are. One such actress happens to be Regina Cassandra. She started as a model, then became an actress in Tollywood, with an enviable body of work.

Regina Cassandra started in Tollywood with the remake of the Tamil movie Siva Manasula Sakthi, titled Shiva Manasulo Shakthi. The love story, in which she starred opposite Sudheer Babu, made people take notice of her. Regina started getting heroine offers to star opposite young heroes like Sundeep Kishan, Sai Tej, Allu Sirish, etc., in her earlier days in Tollywood.
The movie which made her famous as an actress was Jyo Achyuthananda, in which she played an independent woman fighting against all odds to achieve her goal. The Srinivas Avasarala movie was based on her character, which gave scope for her to show her emotive side as an actress.
The period from 2014-2017 saw Regina climb the ladder and be the lead pair opposite big heroes like Ravi Teja.
Regina constantly reinvented herself with meaty roles in Telugu, rather than her mother tongue, Tamil. The experimental movie Awe! saw Regina play a daring role of a drug addicted waitress at a restaurant, which formed a substantial part of the whole movie.

Now, Regina Cassandra is ready to play another role in Adivi Sesh’s thriller, Evaru. In fact, Regina played a similar character in 7, a movie which focussed on the many affairs of a man and the deaths or abductions of his girlfriends. Regina played a treacherous lady villain, who manipulates the man who loved her and eventually makes him a convict, as he has other relationships.
Evaru, as the trailer shows, is a suspense cop drama about the killing of a man. In this murder case, Regina becomes the prime suspect. The main plot and screen space in the trailer revolve around her and Adivi Sesh, who investigates the case and chases her to find out the truth.
