Tollywood is known to release a lot of its big budget movies during the Sankranthi or Dusshera season. For a change, in August 2019, which generally is not a holiday season, Tollywood is bracing up for the release of a lot of big budget movies, from the time period between July 18th and August 30th.
The carnival starts with the release of iSmart Shankar on July 18th. The movie is an ambitious project as it brings together Ram Pothineni and Puri Jagannath for the first time for a movie.
Then, there is the much awaited movie of Vijay Deverakonda, Dear Comrade, on July 26th, 2019. The Bharat Kamma directorial is a hit already with its songs. In fact, Vijay Deverakonda started a musical tour all over the South to promote his movie.
Then comes Nagarjuna Akkineni’s Manmadhudu 2 on August 9th, directed by Rahul Ravindran. The romantic comedy is a sequel to Nagarjuna’s 2002 film Manmadhudu.
The Independence Day of 2019 is going to be a tug of war between Sharwanand’s Ranarangam and Adivi Sesh’s Evaru. Capping these releases is one of the most awaited movies of the year, Saaho.
The Prabhas starrer Saaho is an ambitious project releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam. The movie makers planned to release the movie on August 15th, 2019, but there are reports the release of Saaho may be postponed to August end.
The film festival ends with the Nani starrer Nani’s Gang Leader, releasing on August 30th, 2019. This interesting movie will showcase another facet of Nani—a crime novelist who coordinates with a group of women to take revenge on their rivals.
