One of the press reporters posed a tricky question to Mahesh Babu as to whether he will ever do a cult mass film with a raw and rugged look.
Mahesh gave an extremely honest answer, explaining his cult status and how he should strive to protect it. Mahesh replied, he is a star who should strive to bring every section of audience to his movies, every time he does one. If he is cast in an out and out mass role, his staple family audience would not come to see him. Mahesh added, it is never easy to bring family audience to movies which are mass masalas.
Moreover, over the years, Mahesh Babu, with his various movies, endeared himself to a family audience.
