Budding filmmakers and filmgoers are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the National Film Awards, which recognise excellence in the Indian film industry, both in the feature film and non feature film categories.
The 66th National Film Awards are going to be declared in the first week of July 2019. Sources say, the National Film Awards which were put on hold due to the 17th General Elections and the imposing of the Model Code of Conduct. Reports say, the Awards’ announcement will take place after the General Budget 2019 is presented.
Tollywood eagerly awaits this year’s National Film Awards. Films like C/O Kancharapalem, Mahanati and Rangasthalam are strong contenders at the National Awards.
Keerthy Suresh is touted to be the only strong contender for the Best Actress award this year for her memorable performance as the legendary actress Savitri. C/O Kancharapalem is competing for the Best Original Screenplay, Best Direction and Best Film categories.
Ram Charan is a great contender this year for the Best Actor award, with strong competition from Mammootty, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rajkummar Rao.
