Amidst reports of Pooja Hegde, the current sensation of South, backing out of Team Valmiki and the director Harish Shankar searching for other option, the Maharshi heroine took to her Twitter handle to confirm she is very much a part of Valmiki.
“Excited to play a super special character in this film and most importantly work once again with this talented team ❤️ #Valmiki (sic,)” she tweeted.
The latest update is, Valmiki has also got a release date. The official remake of the Tamil original Jigarthanda (2014) releases on September 6th.
Both Varun Tej, who will play the main protagonist, as well as director Harish Shankar took to their respective Twitter accounts to announce the date. Tamil actor Atharvaa Murali will play the role of the main antagonist in the movie.
In Valmiki, Varun Tej will reprise the role played by Siddharth in the original, while Atharvaa will don the mantle of Bobby Simha, who was the main villain in Jigarthanda.
Seems Pooja learned a thing or two about the importance of big ticket projects!
