We have seen the panache Rana Daggubati brought to his negative role, the iconic Bhalla Deva, in the Baahubali series. We know the man is game for any type of experiments, with the script playing a paramount role.
Now, Rana Daggubati is going to play a role any serious actor would love to be offered, the character of Hiranyakashyapa, the demon king of yore, whose name has become synonymous with the legend of the boy-devotee Prahlada in Indian mythology.
Director Gunasekhar tweeted and shared the message about his labour of love, the Hiranyakashyapa project, saying extensive pre production works have been going on for the past 3 years on the Hiranyakshyapa project.

Mythological movies have been more or less rare in Telugu cinema for the past 3 decades. It remains to be seen whether Gunasekhar and Rana Daggubati revive the genre and inspire new film makers to attempt a mythological movie in the future.
