Darbar To Feature The Rowdy Rathore Villain

Darbar, a movie which created quite a buzz all over social media when it was announced, is now back in the headlines with another interesting update. Rajinikanth, who is currently basking in the success of his recent flicks Petta and 2.0, is now all set to don a new look.

Sources state, Rajinikanth will play the role of a cop in this upcoming project. With Rajinikanth playing a cop after almost 25 years, his fans are eagerly waiting for Darbar to hit theatres. Now, the latest news is, Pradeep Kabra, the actor who is predominantly known in the Bollywood industry for his work on Delhi Belly, Rowdy Rathore and Dabangg 2, will also be a part of this upcoming Rajinikanth starrer. Pradeep, who is a huge fan of Rajinikanth, is super excited with this prospect. He stated, “I auditioned for the role and I guess the director’s team liked my performance. They introduced me to the director, A. R. Murugadoss and things fell into place (sic.)”

Incidentally, this is not the first time Pradeep Kabra is working with Rajinikanth. He previously worked with him on Kaala, as Nana Patekar’s aid and henchman. Therefore, he was shocked to see Rajinikanth recognize him on the sets of Darbar on his first day. He was blown away when Rajinikanth greeted him with folded hands and then took Pradeep’s hand in his. Pradeep is in awe of the Superstar’s simplicity and down to earth nature.

According to Pradeep Kabra, though it was a simple gesture, it spoke volumes about the great man’s character. A.R. Murugadoss is the director of Darbar, while Allirajah Subaskaran is producing it, under the banner of Lyca Productions. Nayanthara, the Lady Superstar of South Indian cinema, will play the female lead role in Darbar. Anirudh Ravichandran, the young and talented musician who won the hearts of millions with his fantastic music in Jersey, is composing the music for Darbar.
