Little Soldiers, a movie which came out in the year 1996, was one of the most hilarious movies to release that year. Revolving around two extremely mischievous kids, Sunny and Bunny, and their adventures, Little Soldiers is extremely entertaining and will appeal to all sections of the audience.
Here are a few reasons why one must watch Little Soldiers:
⦁ Extreme mischief, which is a reminder of school days:
The movie holds a mirror to the old school days when we were kids and pulled a couple of pranks on our friends. With Sunny’s and Bunny’s mischiefs, the audience are taken back in time. With loads of fun and entertainment, Little Soldiers is a must watch for all those who love kids’ antics.
⦁ Simple yet effective storyline:
The storyline of Little Soldiers was penned down by Gangaraju Gunnam, the director of some of the most path breaking and moving movies in Telugu cinema such as Amma Chepindi and Chandamama Lo Amrutham. The storyline is simple yet effective, with twists placed at the right turns. Anitha and Aravind are a young couple who are very much in love with each other. They are parents to two very mischievous kids, Sunny and Bunny. The kids lose their parents in a tragic car accident. They are now the responsibility of their grandparents. While their paternal grandfather is a disciplinarian who retired from the military, their maternal grandmother is a pleasant lady with a vast fortune. However, that is not the end of the story. The kids do not know their maternal grandmother since Anitha leaves her fortune and lavish life to get married to Aravind. The rest of the story is how the kids survive some very deadly experiences and the tragic truth behind their parents’ death.
⦁ Great songs:
The songs of Little Soldiers were huge hits. Right from the song I Am A Very Good Girl, to Vendi Vennela, to Ek Do Teen Aage Chal, all the songs are extremely entertaining and hilarious. The simple yet effective lyrics of the songs appeal to all sections of the audience. The music of this superhit entertainer was composed by Sri Kommineni, who worked on some of the biggest hits such as Money Money, Sindhooram, Anaganaga Oka Roju, Aavida Maa Aavide and Gaayam.
⦁ Heart wrenching emotions:
Though Little Soldiers is a complete entertainer, there are a couple of instances where words fail to express the heart wrenching emotions. The realization which dawns upon the kids that their parents are no more, that they will never be able to talk to them, that moment is superbly executed by Bunny (Kavya Annapareddy) and Sunny (Baladitya.) Gangaraju Gunnam, the director, deserves the credit for it.
⦁ Brilliant actors:
Little Soldiers featured Kavya Annapareddy as Bunny, Baladitya as Sunny, Sudhakar as Seshagiri’s son, Giri Babu as Seshagiri, Rohini Hattangadi as Rajeshwari Devi, Kota Srinivasa Rao as Major Harishchandra Prasad in the lead roles. They put up a fantastic performance in their respective roles and that is the reason Little Soldiers is a memorable movie even today. Brahmanandam as Gun (a cook at Major Harishchandra Prasad’s house,) Heera Rajagopal as Anitha, Ramesh Aravind as Aravind and Rallapalli as Gopal also did a great job at playing their roles, because of which Little Soldiers stands as an evergreen entertainer even today.
Little Soldiers is an entertainer which will appeal to all sections of the audience. One can watch it any number of times and it never fails to make the audience laugh, cry, tense up and giggle.
