NTR Mahanayakudu Telugu Movie Review

NTR Mahanayakudu, the second part of the NTR biopic hit theatres today. The story revolves around NTR as a leader and a politician. While NTR Kathanayakudu showed the journey of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, as an actor, NTR Mahanayakudu is the transformation of an actor to a leader.

Story:

The story of NTR Mahanayakudu picks up right where it was left off in NTR Kathanayakudu. While the first part, NTR Kathanayakudu closes with the announcement of the party name, Telugu Desam, NTR Mahanayakudu kicks off with NTR putting together a plan to campaign for the upcoming elections. He quickly wins the hearts and confidence of the people and Telugu Desam Party wins the election with a thumping majority. He introduces Nara Chandrababu Naidu into the party. NTR deals with a lot public problems and complaints which bring out the brilliant administrator and statesman in him. However, the good times do not last for a long time. In the meanwhile, NTR is advised to have an open heart surgery. He flies to the U.S.A., to get the surgery done while his wife fights cancer. Nadendla Bhaskar Rao, a party member stages a meeting in the absence of NTR to oust him from the Chief Minister’s chair. On returning, NTR finds out about this and lashes out at those who wronged him. What happens next and how does he cope with the circumstances is the essence of NTR Mahanayakudu.

Performances:

• Balakrishna did a good job in NTR Mahanayakudu.
• Vidya Balan maintained her role with such grace that she was convincing in the role of Basavatarakam and is sure to win the appreciation and hearts of the audience.
• Rana Daggubati in the role of Nara Chandrababu Naidu was a show stealer. He not only replicated Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s body language, but also was able to replicate his sheer political acumen in certain scenes.

Positives:

• High production values are a huge plus point for NTR Mahanayakudu.
• The engaging storyline is another winning point for this sensational movie.
• M. Keeravani’s music added the pleasing appeal to NTR Mahanayakudu.

 Negatives:

• The plot line of the story is far too lengthy and in certain aspects, it fails to capture the attention of the audience.

NTR Mahanayakudu is an engaging political drama that refreshes the memories of those who witnessed NTR’s leadership. For those who did not get a chance to see the great man’s administration, here’s a chance to watch it with NTR Mahanayakudu!
