Rajinikanth, the legendary actor who works predominantly in the South Indian cinema is basking in the success of his movie 2.0. The living legend worked in over 150 films and in numerous roles.
Come to think of it, the actor has worked in almost every South Indian industry, right from Kannada to Telugu. He worked in Bengali movies as well! Rajinikanth’s first major role was in the movie Anthuleni Katha, which featured Jaya Prada, Sri Priya, Phataphat Jayalakshmi Reddy, Kamal Haasan and many others. Rajinikanth played the role of an irresponsible brother who gradually undergoes change. Anthuleni Katha was a black and white movie and came out in the year 1976, when the Telugu film industry was just spreading its wings.
From there started the fantastic journey of the actor and his fan following started to build in leaps and bounds. Rajinikanth then worked on many other movies in colour as well and one of his most prominent movies is Sivaji. Sivaji: The Boss featured Rajinikanth and Shriya Saran and many others in the lead roles.
Kochadaiiyaan was the first photorealistic motion capture film in India which based its characters on real life celebrities. It featured Rajinikanth in the lead role while Jackie Shroff, Deepika Padukone, Shobana and Aadhi also played key roles. Kochadaiiyaan was released in 3D as a tribute to the centennial of Indian cinema.
Then came 2.0 in 3D, which is receiving a tremendous response from the audience. Rajinikanth is playing a key role in 2.0 by featuring in the role of Vaseegaran and Chitti. Akshay Kumar is playing the antagonist in 2.0.
Rajinikanth is the first actor in the whole world to feature in all the four formats of filmmaking. It is indeed a feat worth applauding and appreciating.
