The #MeToo campaign is gathering momentum on social media day by day. Hundreds and thousands of women who suffered in silence are finally speaking up and revealing the horrific experiences they underwent in their lives. It’s taking all of their strength and courage to admit to the world and themselves that they were once victims of unwanted advances and sexual harassment.
However, the shocking thing is women bearing respectable and prominent positions in the society, working women and entrepreneurs; every woman has a story to tell and has a tale of tears behind closed doors. These women are finally finding their voice and raising it against the offenders who once wronged them and robbed them of their dignity.
Extremely disturbed by the incidents coming out. It takes immense courage to speak up and I support all the women who have come ahead and shared the horrible experiences they have had to go through! So glad that everyone is standing united ! More power to all! #MeToo

The celebrities of the film industry are extending their support and proactively standing in support for these women by talking about it all over social media. Their participation has added the much needed momentum to the campaign and it is now spreading like a wildfire.
We, Women need to stand up for each other, defend and stay true in testing times. For those who feel women do this as a publicity propaganda, pls do not trivialize and sling mud as that doesn’t speak very highly of your thought process and intentions. #MeToo #MeTooIndia #TimesUp

The effect of this movement is already showing results. While many male celebrities who have inflicted and subjected their co workers to harassment and painful situations are being dragged into the limelight and being exposed; it has also brought in some consciousness in men.
(1/2)I am so happy that more and more women are finding the strength to say #MeToo . Your bravery is commendable . I am sorry though that some people ,even other women themselves will shame and burden you with the question of proof and doubt. Just know that you are saving

Now, men are making sure they behave appropriately and are asking their female co workers if their behavior in the past has offended or made the latter uncomfortable in any way. While the campaign is bringing about a change in the attitude of men toward women, it is also giving a voice to the oppressed.
More than the names it’s the description of the way things happened is what is disturbing me the most. Makes me have this terrible feeling that we have discovered only the tip of this iceberg. #Metoo
