2.0, the upcoming project of Rajinikanth released the teaser of the movie yesterday and man the response was even better than anyone expected. Superstar Rajinikanth played the role of Chitti the Robot and Dr.Vaseegaran in 2.0 alongside the beautiful Amy Jackson, the female lead of this movie. The role of the antagonist is being played by the Bollywood stuntman, Akshay Kumar. 2.0 is set to release on the 29th of November, 2018. However, fans of Rajinikanth grew impatient in the meanwhile.
With more than 412K views of the Tamil version teaser, over 3.7 million views of the Hindi version teaser and over 39K views of the Telugu one on Facebook, 2.0 hit a record high of the highest number of views in 24 hours and this is just getting started. The total number of views on Facebook recorded an astonishing number of 4.1 million views and is still counting. This is just the facebook views count. On Instagram, a total of over 3.5 million views were recorded.
Fans of Rajinikanth and Shankar’s direction went crazy once the teaser was out and YouTube recorded a total of over 24.8 million views which is almost twice the record Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy set with a mammoth figure of 15 million views in 24 hours. With just a glimpse of the VFX effects used in the movie and with an amazing background score by A.R Rehman, Chitti the Robot is back in his old form. On YouTube, the Tamil teaser recorded over 9.4 million views, the Hindi version recorded over 10.3 million views and the Telugu one recorded over 5.1 million views. A grand total of 32.4 million views were recorded all over the social media.
2.0 has set the expectations of the audience pretty high with mind-blowing VFX and a strong storyline. The movie is going to be released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu languages and is going to be dubbed in 13 other languages. 2.0 teaser has been released in 3D, a first in the movie industry. 2.0 is being produced by Allirajah Subaskaran and Raju Mahalingam under the banner of Lyca Productions. It is going to be distributed by Lyca Productions in Tamil and Dharma Productions in Hindi.
