ROBO 2.0 is an upcoming project of Rajinikanth, the Tamil Superstar. It is being directed by S. Shankar, the most talented and a pioneer of vigilante kind of movies in the South Indian cinema. Movies like Anniyan, Sivaji, and Enthiran: The Robot brought about a revolutionary change in the way the movie industry operates. He is one of those directors who proved that along with a good storyline, a strong backing up of the cast and crew is what makes a movie successful and reach new heights.
His current project, 2.0 is a mega mammoth project with a stunning budget of 75 million dollars, which is approximately about 550 crores in Indian rupees. This kind of surpasses the biggest project of the South Indian cinema, Baahubali- both 1 and 2 put together. With the best of the best talent, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles and the beautiful Amy Jackson helming the female lead role in this movie, ROBO 2.0 promises more than what meets the eye. It comes next to none when the VFX or the technical aspects of the film are discussed as an astounding budget is set aside for the same. ROBO 2.0 is the 9th costliest non-English movie and the 7th costliest Asian movie overall.
ROBO 2.0 is going to be out in 2 languages Tamil, Hindi and in about 13 other dubbed languages. The movie is gearing up for its release on the 29th of November, 2018. The project began its pre-production work in the year 2015 with Lyca Productions backing it up and Allirajah Subaskaran and Raju Mahalingam producing it. An official announcement has been made that this movie is not a sequel of ROBO but would retain similar ideas and concepts- kind of a spiritual sequel.
