Nithiin is back in form with films like A..Aa and Lie. Both his acting performance and market share has gone up after A..Aa. He collaborated with lyricist-turned-director Krishna Chaitanya for his landmark 25th film and the film has story by Trivikram Srinivas, co-produced by Pawan Kalyan. All the big names tagged with the film have garnered good buzz. Has Nithiin recreated his magic?
Mohan Ranga (Nithiin) is a happy-go-lucky guy. He’s street smart. He sees Megha (Megha Akash) in his childhood and falls for her. He learns that Megha has gone to US, Mohan Ranga decides to go the US when he grows up. After a good amount of hardships. he finally goes to the US and meets Megha on a road trip from New York and falls in love with her. What happens next forms the crux of the story.
Nithiin as usual did a decent job as Mohan Ranga. Megha Akash did her part well. The Lie pair is the USP of this passionate drama laced with comedy. Rao Ramesh, Narra Srinu, Madhu, Satya, Prabhas Sreenu have all done their roles well. Comedy works in bits and parts.
Director Krishna Chaitanya, whose last directorial was Nara Rohit’s Rowdy Fellow, has done a decent job in writing scenes, witty dialogues for Chal Mohan Ranga. He has infused more comedy into the film. The film’s biggest strength is the characterization of the protagonist Mohan Ranga, played by Nithiin with ease.
Comedy by Satya, Madhu, Narra Srinu, Prabhas Sreenu have all worked. While the first half is decent, post-interval, the film suffers initially. However, it picks up and gradually progresses towards the end. The party sequence before the film’s climax is highlight of the film. Although the film has a predictable story and flat narration, humour, Nithiin’s characterization, the chemistry of lead pair save the film.
Chal Mohan Ranga is the ultimate romcom of the season. It surely wont disappoint you.
