Gopichand collaborated with director A.M. Jyothi Krishna (son of popular producer A.M. Rathnam) for a film titled Oxygen. The director-actor duo drew a lot of attention and the film’s title raised the curiosity levels among the audience. In addition to this, the trailer and teaser of the film were promising. The big day is finally here! Living up to all its hype and buzz, Oxygen stands as one of the well-made films in the recent times.
Krishna Prasad (Gopichand), an NRI, arrives to India to marry village-beauty Sruthi (Raashi Khanna,) daughter of Raghupathi (Jagapati Babu.) Raghupathi has an arch rival Veerabhadram (Sayaji Shinde) who wants to eliminate Raghupathi’s family due to his personal grudge. Here comes the twist in the tale.
Who is Krishna Prasad? What twists does he bring in the plot? What is the mystery behind the title, Oxygen?
Gopichand is apt for the role. He has got under the skin of the character so well. He does justice to his role as an NRI. Especially, he looks great as an army officer in the flashback.
Raashi Khanna and Anu Emmanuel are easy on eyes. They rev up the glam quotient. Jagapati Babu, Ashish Vidyarthi and everybody else fit perfectly in their roles. Director A.M. Jyothi Krishna has recruited a very good cast.
Story, Screenplay & Direction
High-octane Action Episodes
Few scenes in First Half
Set in rural milieu, the film starts with a trouble between two faction groups. However, how director A.M. Jyothi Krishna connects it to a larger issue is what makes Oxygen a different film. Especially, the pre-interval twist is something that stuns the viewers.
The high-octane action sequences are a visual treat to action lovers. Story, screenplay and direction is good. Dialogues are praise-worthy. Yuvan’s music gets a thumbs up. Technically, the film is flawless. It is a lavishly shot film. Barring a few routine scenes in the first half, Oxygen thrills you to the core, especially the second-half. Looks like, Gopi and Jyothi Krishna got a winner!!
Oxygen strikes hard. Go for it. It’s a good film.
