It is much obvious when a movie is a blockbuster, people tend to compare it with other movies in the past. This is common for all the blockbusters and when the hit is on a very high scale like Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, these comparisons are almost mandatory.
Thevar Magan, written and produced by the versatile actor Kamal Haasan is now coming into the news for its plot which is similar to the plot of Baahubali series. Thevar Magan, which means ‘Son of Thevar’, released in 1992 and Sivaji Ganesan (Priya Thevar) acted as Kamal Haasan’s father.
The story runs around Shaktivelu (Kamal Haasan) who dreams to run a chain of restaurents in Chennai but has to stay in his village to stand for the villagers against Maya Thevar (brother of Periya Thevar) who tortures the villagers. In this process, Kamal Haasan loses his father and how he takes revenge is the rest of the plot.
Though there are comparisons for this plot to the plot of Baahubali, except for the fact that the younger one (Sivaji Ganesan) of the two brothers becomes village head and the point that the hero kills his father’s brother, there is nothing in common between these movies. Baahubali revolves around the urge for power and Thevar Magan revolves around a bad brother disliking his brother’s policies and going against him.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has also been compared to Venkatesh’s Jayam Manadera too but, with this humongous success of Baahubali 2, all these are just like passing clouds which are not getting any importance.
