Tollywood nowadays can be classified into two types. One, the commercial cinema, made to entertain the audience and the other, the experimental cinema which depends on the plot and the technicalities, leaving the commercial elements behind.
There are very few directors in Telugu cinema who do not fit into both the above categories. One such director is Indraganti Mohan Krishna who is coming up with a con-com movie Ami Thumi. In a recent interview, he said that film making is a process and good results can’t be achieved through magical tricks. “A regular commercial formula filled with all the fake emotions does not excite me” he added.
Taking a look into his career graph, he hasn’t repeated any of his concepts. Directing movies in non-commercial genres has created a separate base for him in the industry. He also stated that Telugu cinema has to look at producing more different genres and also criticized for blaming innovative directors and films. Looking at his statements and films, Indraganti Mohan Krishna can heavily impact the changing mindset of our Telugu Film Industry.
