I was a discriminated child in my family, says Renu Desai

One needs to accept that everyone in the industry is not born with a silver spoon. Because of their hard work and after facing a lot of struggles, they would have reached heights in Tollywood. Like Chiranjeevi, Sharwanand and a few more actors, Renu Desai is one such unsung filmmaker in the industry.

In a recent interview, the filmmaker has revealed about the hardships faced by her when she was a child. “Yes, I am a discriminated child. My Sister was born in 1975 and my parents weren’t happy when I was born as they wanted a son in my place. I was heartbroken when my mother revealed this to me when I was 15 years old.” She added, “Just because they are highly educated, my parents didn’t abort me, but I faced a lot of discrimination. When I questioned (them) about the discrimination, my mother slapped me. So, because of that, I started behaving like a tom boy so that my parents will also treat me on par with my younger brother.”
