After creating a lot of buzz for a while, in the industry, the third part of the “Singam” franchise, “S3” has finally released on February 9th. Directed by Hari, the film features Suriya, Shruti Haasan and Anushka Shetty in the key roles– who all gave fine performances. But when coming to the collections, the film has disappointed the team a bit.
As per the latest reports, “Singam 3” did a pre release business of Rs. 100 crores and the makers have estimated that it would collect a share of Rs. 150 crores approximately. Though the film grossed Rs. 100 crores in the first six days, unfortunately, it just collected Rs. 120 crores in long run and created a loss of Rs. 30 crores approximately to the distributors.
For the Telugu rights, Markapur Shivakumar had invested Rs. 10 Crores and he managed to get Rs. 13 crores. Surprisingly, the film turned out to be a hit in Telugu, but failed at the Kollywood box office, like Suriya’s last film “24.”
