Balakrishna’s landmark 100th film “Gautamiputra Satakarni” released yesterday touched the roots of Telugu history demanding the world to give our due share of identity.
Satakarni had ruled the Satavahana kingdom with Amaravathi as the capital in 2nd century CE. This coincides with the present situation of Andhra Pradesh State, with the task of building a new capital city Amaravathi, from scratch.
AP CM Chandrababu Naidu along with four of his ministers and GPSK team of Balakarishna, Krish and Shriya watched “Gautamiputra Satakarni” at a special screening arranged in Vijayawada yesterday evening at Capital Cinemas.
Excited with historical research and its adaptation in making of this visual extravaganza, Naidu reportedly requested Krish to offer him a research copy of the film’s script.
“I found our CM Naidu garu as first, best and ideal movie patron when he was shooting me with many questions on Satakarni. He was excited watching Gautamiputra Satakarni. He went impulsive asking me about our writer and lyricist because he enjoyed each dialogue and loved every line in the song. His respect for films is unparalleled.”
“As AP’s new capital, dream city Amaravthi is in early stages Naidu sir wanted it to be blended with modernity and traditional root aesthetics. He went emotional with my last voice over. When I showed Naidu garu the Maharashtra gazette incorporated with lot of Satavahana information, he was shocked. I thank CM garu, his cabinet ministers for encouraging historical films like GPSk,” said Krish.
