In the entire Khaidi No 150 pre-release event, it was Naga Babu’s remarks that stole the thunder.
Although he also took potshots at R.G.V., but Naga Babu’s comments on writer Yandamuri Veerendranath have become talking points and dominated the debates.
Be it within the industry circles or among the audience, no one was aware of Yandamuri’s comments on Ram Charan until Naga Babu’s statement on dais. So, many took to YouTube to check the old video of Yandamuri about Charan and Devi Sri Prasad.
Although the video dates back to some time ago, it surfaced unexpected traffic with as many were trying to watch what Yandamuri had really said and what could have led to Naga Babu’s ire.
Interestingly, responding to Naga Babu’s comments Yandamuri said, “I don’t know why he blasted like that on me. During a personality development session for students, I made some come comments on Charan and Devi Sri Prasad, which are actually positive, but they took in a different way. But even after that Nagababu and I met in a private function and had a talk as usual.”
He added in a dignified manner, “He is a plain hearted person, maybe he get (sic) excited after seeing the audience and may be reacted in such way. Who knows soon we might be doing a film.”
The irony is that the Naga Bau’s remarks have acted as a catalyst as people who don’t know about the issue also started digging up the past. With this, Naga Babu stirred up a hornets nest and thus brought the forgotten issue back into the limelight.
